ABOUT ME
I’m still a client. My therapist has been my #1 fan throughout the years which has played a role in my decision to become a therapist. I am honored to walk alongside my clients as they navigate their unique paths towards greater well-being and fulfillment. Being on the other side of the couch (or screen in our case) is something I can personally relate to and recognize how hard and uncomfortable growth can be, but I also know how rewarding and empowering it is. I am here to support and embody encouragement every step of the way, we're in this together.
When I’m not at work you can find me in my vegetable garden, getting my farm ready for animals, reading a murder mystery, or snuggled up with my dog Grandpaw. I have strong connections to the communities I work with because I am part of them. In addition to my clinical work I am passionate about advocacy, harm reduction, and social justice. I engage in community outreach and am committed to staying informed about best practices in the field of psychotherapy.
A little background
Fresh out of high school I went to art school to learn the science and art of photography, something I am still very passionate about. Although I loved making all bodies, genders, and identities feel beautiful and loved in front of a camera I knew there was more I wanted to do to provide safety within these communities. I started working at an inpatient treatment center for substance abuse over a decade ago and soon after, decided it was time to go back to school. I obtained my bachelor's degree in psychology and again, felt there was more I could and wanted to do. I opened a sober living home for queer and trans women and non-binary folk in Los Angeles. It showed me the true magnitude of the growth that can be made when you are given a safe and supported opportunity. What do you think is next? You guessed it, there is more work I felt I could do, I wanted to go deeper. I applied to a graduate program for clinical psychology and made the decision to focus my career as a therapist in communities that I know from personal experience doesn't have enough recognition through a clinical lens. So here I am: a queer, artistic, kinky, poly person and therapist bringing an emphasis of love to underserved populations and shedding shame with my clients.
